Numerical and experimental validation of an explicit meshfree method: With applications to material forming

Meshfree methods were introduced twenty-five years ago to overcome a range of issues faced by mesh-based methods, which predominately relate the mesh-entanglement, can result in poor accuracy. Although meshfree have progressed significantly over these years, application techniques real-world material forming problems is limited, despite potential benefits they provide traditional methods. This paper concerned with simulation stretch blow moulding process, primary manufacturing process used produce polymer bottles. Traditionally, finite element method has been simulate this however, difficulties are often encountered during simulations, cause reduced In paper, nodally integration explicit element-free Galerkin formulated. Firstly, formulation validated through several numerical problems, display accuracy, and computational efficiency proposed method. Following this, experimental characterisation discussed. Finally, developed utilised construct process. The accuracy obtained simulations highlights capability formulation, be applied wide large deformation phenomena.
